Our time to do something extraordinary – together.

The Altamira Comet invites you to join everyone on Earth for an infinite journey through outer space.

All of our selfies – the faces of millions of distinct humans from all around the world – will be microscopically sculpted in gold, frozen together into a ball of ice,

and launched into space to form... a comet!

An actual comet in outer space.

Comets are icy balls of cosmic dust traveling around the Sun.

The Altamira Comet swaps out the dust for the golden selfies of everyone on Earth.

As the Sun's heat turns the ice into gas, our golden selfies are released into space, forming the tail of the comet.

A celebration of cooperative spirit.

30,000 years ago, our prehistoric ancestors started painting their unique hands on cave walls, first discovered in the Altamira Cave in Spain and now found all over the world. From the Stone Age to the Space Age, the Altamira Comet celebrates this same cooperative spirit: human culture made by all of us, for everyone.

Everyone on Earth is invited.

The faces of millions of humans from around the world, each one of a kind and distinctive, miniaturized miraculously into microscopic golden sculptures, traveling through our solar system as one humanity.

Selfies the size of cosmic dust.

Created with state-of-the-art technology used to fabricate semiconductors, each selfie is a microscopic sculpture about 12 microns wide, the same size as the cosmic dust found in comets – even smaller than the width of a human hair.

A global collab.

Our team of scientists, artists, universities and organizations around the world are working hard to make the Altamira Comet a reality.

We All Go

The Altamira Comet is an actual comet, literally made of our individual golden selfies – it can only manifest if we all go. Stay tuned for more information about how to add your selfie to the comet as we get closer to launch.
